Who this work is for

Polyamory, open relationships, swinging, relationship anarchy, solo poly, throuples and polycules, monogamish arrangements, and the versions that don't have a name yet.

Considering opening up

You are thinking about non-monogamy, or one of you is further along than the other. Sort out what you each actually want before the structure decides for you.

Already practicing ENM

Jealousy that will not resolve on its own, a new partner changing the dynamic, agreements that need renegotiating, or a structure shift the whole polycule feels.

Done explaining yourself

You have been to therapy before and spent half of it defending your relationship structure. That part is already handled here, so the real work starts sooner.

“You will not need to justify your relationship structure to me before we get to work.”

Amanda Jablon, LCSW, therapist in Southern California

Meet Amanda Jablon, LCSW

Amanda is a therapist based in Southern California with more than ten years in private practice. She holds an MSW from USC and draws from Internal Family Systems, Emotionally Focused Therapy, and the Gottman Method in her work.

She does not have a rulebook for what your relationships should look like, and she is suspicious of anyone who does. Sessions focus on what is happening between you and your partners: attachment, jealousy at its root, communication that keeps breaking in the same place, and the decisions non-monogamy actually asks of people.

Sessions run 50 minutes by secure video, available to adults anywhere in California. Half-day and full-day relationship intensives are available for bigger repairs and major decisions.

How the work happens

No rulebook for what your relationships should look like. The approach is built from three evidence-based models, adapted to whoever is in the room.

IFS

Internal Family Systems

Jealousy usually has a younger, more protective part of you underneath it. Parts work gets at the root instead of managing the symptom.

EFT

Emotionally Focused Therapy

Attachment-based work for the moments that keep repeating: the same fight, the same shutdown, the same distance afterward.

GM

Gottman Method

Practical, research-backed tools for communication, repair, and the agreements that keep a structure honest.

Common questions

Do you take insurance?

No. The practice is private pay, with superbills provided on request. Depending on your plan, out-of-network benefits may reimburse part of the fee.

Can all of my partners attend?

Yes. Partner sessions are open to couples, throuples, and polycules, and video sessions make it workable even when partners live in different cities, as long as everyone is in California.

We haven't opened our relationship yet. Is it too early?

No. Working through it before anything changes is often the best timing there is. Nothing about the process assumes you have already decided.

How often are sessions?

Weekly, especially at the start. This is real therapeutic work, and momentum matters more than most people expect.

Do you only see people who are already non-monogamous?

No. Plenty of clients arrive monogamous and curious, or with partners at different points on the question. Individual work around your own relationship to non-monogamy is welcome too.
